Business Spotlight with Cindy van Der Westhuizen from McWest Real Estate

About Me

When taking a break from Real Estate I am a wife, and mum to two beautiful, Sunny Coast born daughters, who light up my life. Before my successful property career, I attended Monash University and have a degree in Psychology and Media & Communications. I started out assisting other property companies with their Public Relations and that is where I discovered my passion for real estate.

Best real estate advice

“You make your money when you buy” – by buying right you will increase your chances of generating wealth through property. “Presentation is key when you sell” – you only get one chance to make a good first impression.

What do you enjoy most about your industry?

  • Ovenu Sunshine Coast

“If you love what you do, you will never really work a day in your life” this resonates with me. If I could choose to do anything, I would still choose a real estate career. I am passionate about property and this permeates in the work that I do. I love that in real estate no two days are the same. You get to meet some amazing people, who let you in not only into their lives, but their gorgeous homes, and often this comes with many interesting life stories and experiences.

Favourite walks on the Coast?

Coolum Beach to Point Arkwright coastal walk, such beautiful vantage points to see Coolum Beach, and spot turtles swimming in the ocean.

Noosa National Park to Hell’s Gate, a very popular trail, offering stunning secluded bays, surfing spots & vantage points. Look out for a koala in the eucalyptus trees, or you may be lucky enough to spot the whales migrating.

Hike up Mount Coolum offers some truly spectacular views, as well as some great exercise!
